My first instinct was that this looks more like a flexplate. But it’s hard to get a sense of what portion of the car I’m actually looking at. Hopefully more pictures will follow.

I just ran a Google image search on flexplates, finding all different shapes and sizes. So I guess that not all flex plates have a ring gear. Yeah, definitely an engine leaning over to the side, one head on top and one to the right. Whoever wrote the captions was not the one on-site taking pictures.

Hard to tell the difference. Same engine, either way: a big ol’ 371 Rocket V8. That mangled one sitting in front of the bumper is missing a carb though.
